　　Kyohei Aizawa, an assassin for a covert non-governmental espionage group in Japan called "SEEK", is grieving over the loss of his girlfriend from a tragic plane accident. 　　英国海滨小镇布赖顿，凯特斯和卡林奥里两大黑帮组织盘踞于此，互相角力，此消彼长。某夜，凯特斯被对头当街杀害，视老大如亲父的平基（Sam Riley 饰）目睹了凶案的全过程，于是想参与者之一的福瑞德（Sean Harris 饰）展开追杀。福瑞德虽死，却留下一堆的麻烦，他生前为了躲避跟踪曾某餐馆女侍应生罗丝（Andrea Riseborough 饰），并与之留下合影。为了销毁证据，平基开始接近这名单纯的女孩，而罗丝也渐渐爱上了帅气冷酷的平基。与此同时，凯特斯的死亡也让布赖顿的黑帮势力失衡，一方面卡林奥里迅速扩张，一方面本帮内部展开权力争夺，平基深陷其中无法自拔……　　本片根据Graham Greene 的小说改编。
