2017年，李文彬（梁家辉 饰）突然失踪，与此同时，蔡元祺在英国惨遭暗杀。为此，刘杰辉（郭富城 饰）向简奥伟（周润发 饰）寻求协助，开启了一份1994年的神秘档案。                                                                      　　1994年，香港回归前夕，政治部即将解散。一宗富商绑架案，让热血正义的李文彬（刘俊谦 饰）与冷血野心家蔡元祺（吴彦祖 饰），在警界掀起一场暗潮涌动的权力较量。英方、警队、富商、黑道四方势力卷入其中互相博弈，香港迎来了新一轮权力洗牌，并为2017年的寒战风波埋下了伏笔。

一个生活在社会边缘的母亲永岛夏希（北川景子 饰），白天在便利店打工，晚上在小酒馆兼职，努力维持家庭的温饱，但为了实现两个孩子的梦想，她不得已走上了成为毒贩的道路。

好像一切都很糟糕

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 杀出魔鬼镇

　　美联社、《生活》杂志等著名媒体都曾报道过1964年的“月光凶杀案”，当时小镇坠入一片恐慌，一到黄昏就全镇戒严，全副武装的警察上街巡逻。直到三个月再无袭击发生，警察才逐渐撤出。1976年，曾有一部根据该案件改编的同名影片上映。两名幸存者描述凶手有六英尺高，头戴面具，只露出眼睛和嘴巴。　　2014年版《杀出魔鬼镇》中，连环凶杀再度开始，面具杀手时隔六十多年重现特克萨卡纳，究竟是有人故意模仿，还是有更恐怖的事情暗中酝酿？一个孤独的高中女生，似乎知晓解开这一切的秘密。
